Tips for your stay:
1. Make restaurant reservations early.
We arrived on a Monday morning and didn’t plan ahead on our dinner reservations. We went down to eat at 7pm and there was a 2 hour wait at all the restaurants at the resort. You could always go into the marketplace, pizza place, or the bar to get quick service, but we wanted a nice sit down experience.

2. Ask for a robe.
I was disappointed that they didn’t have robes in the room when we arrived, so I called the “consider it done” button on the phone in my room and they delivered them to us! My husband also forgot shaving cream and they delivered several bottles of that for him plus a razor at no charge.
3. Go to a sunrise yoga class, it’s free!
They offer yoga classes every morning from 7-7:45 at the indoor pool area. Get that yoga in early and feel good for the rest of the day!

4. Order room service a day in advance.
You can go to the Gaylord room service menu online and order your food delivery in advance, and you can select your delivery window. If you don’t order ahead of time, you will likely have to wait at least 2 hours for your food. There is a QR code in your room with a link to the menu.
5. Expect a 20% service fee at the spa.
The spa is already priced pretty high, so I was surprised when I arrived to make an appointment that you pay a service fee on top of that amount. The good news is that this fee is actually the tip, so I didn’t mind paying it at all.

6. The outdoor heated pools still feel chilly if it’s cold outside.
The outdoor pools and lazy river are kept in the mid 80’s and the hot tubs are kept in the upper 90’s. We tried the lazy river during our visit in early May, but the water just wasn’t warm enough for us Texans (or anyone else since it was empty,). The hot tubs and indoor pool all felt great though!

7. Room service is not fancy.
The room service is described as “A fresh take on in-room dining. No carts, no fuss. Just fresh local flavor packaged to enjoy in your room or on the go”. I found this basically means that you have to eat with a plastic fork out of a container. This is a disappointing take on room service in my opinion. However, the food is fantastic and I could still eat breakfast in my PJs, so I happily ordered it again for the next day.

8. The mini golf course is pretty basic.
They advertise their mini golf course but I found it to look a little boring. It appears to be designed more for grown ups than kids with the no frills approach. Just expect a basic putting greens with a hole, nothing more.

9. You get a $10 daily credit towards dry cleaning, so use it!
This credit is a perk included in your amenities from your daily resort fee (yes, there is a $29 daily fee for staying at the hotel). The dry cleaning prices were actually pretty reasonable in my opinion, so take advantage! You can place any items for dry cleaning in the designated bag in your room and leave it for room service to pick up and it will be delivered later that evening.
10. If you have a problem, ask and you shall receive!
Every time I asked for assistance or wasn’t 100% happy with something, the staff were amazing and fixed it up for us! When we arrived, we had been assigned a room with two beds instead of one. We went back to the front desk, and after I mentioned that I’d love a room with a view, they hooked us up with a king bed and a great view!
